The famous stone-age cave paintings, claimed to be the oldest paintings in the world, can be viewed
during a fascinating guided tour of the Cueva de la Pileta. For pot-holers the Cueva del Gato, with it's
extensive underground warren of passages, offers an exciting challenge.
Ronda, twenty minutes away by car, stands on a huge natural gorge, the 'Tajo de Ronda'. Houses and gardens
seem to cling to the very edge of this great rift, approx. 500 metres long and 100 metres deep. The blend
of Spanish and Moorish architecture is evident in the beauty of historic houses and palaces with their
terraced gardens and courtyards. A range of museums and art galleries, the bull ring, the Moorish baths
and amny other attractions make this a town worthy of several visits - shopping and dining out in Ronda are a must.
A little further afield but still easily accessible from the Molino del Caracol are Jerez, Seville, Granada,
the Alhambra, the rock of Gibraltar and the car ferry to Morocco.
